Welcome!

Hi! I'm Jen, and I'm so glad you're here!

I'm a New Orleans girl, married to my college boyfriend. Despite my girly-girl background, I am now embracing life as a "Boy Mom!" Most weekends I can be found on the sidelines, simultaneously cheering for my two sons and searching for shade at a soccer field, baseball tournament, or flag football game. During the week it is my privilege to work as a Physician Assistant, where I treat liver disease. I am blessed with a close family that lives nearby, and the highlight of my week is absolutely our Sunday Dinners together.

Now if you'd told me a few years ago I would one day have a blog—and not just any blog, but a blog about my conversations with Jesus in the early morning hours—I would have replied that you were nuts!! But if there's anything I've learned over the last few years it's that God's ways are definitely not my ways, and He has quite the sense of humor!

I'm a cradle Catholic who, despite Saturday CCD classes in elementary school and attending a Catholic high school, didn't have the best Catholic formation. Eventually my faith life consisted of checking boxes (when it was convenient) and attempting to follow a bunch of rules (which I honestly didn't do very well). I essentially told myself that being a "good person" was all that really mattered. And I absolutely did not know a relationship with Jesus was even possible.

Fast forward to a period where several unplanned and unwanted things threw my perfectly orchestrated, well-controlled life upside down. Although it looked like I had it all together, and I often convinced myself of the same, I eventually realized something was lacking. I know without a doubt God allowed me to walk through this storm because He knew it was the only way I would hear Him call my name as He invited me to lean on Him and not myself, and to enter into a life changing relationship with Him. You can read a little more about it Here, Here, and Here.

But how did all of that lead to this blog??

Well, that's where God's sense of humor comes in ... After I found myself at a three day silent Catholic women’s retreat (How did I not realize it was silent when I registered?!) where I encountered Jesus in a manner quite unlike anything I’d previously experienced, I heard Him whisper into my heart that He wanted me to tell others—through a blog! After a hymn at mass convinced me I'd heard Him correctly, I wrote my first blog entry—and promptly decided to share it with no one!
Several hours later, after nonstop arguing with that little, quiet voice, I hit publish, and this blog was born.

Feeling social?
I share the daily details of my faith journey on social media:
